Special Education Teacher Job Description
Special Education Teachers (SETs) work with students from Preschool through High School. The typical week for a SET involves instruction, classroom management, lesson planning, and communication with other professionals. The SET delivers instruction based on an Individualize Education Plan (IEP). The SET collaborates with the parents and other professionals to develop the IEP. The SET meets with the IEP team at least every year. In addition to direct classroom interaction with the students, the SET consults with parents and other professionals to reach the student's goals.
